Description:
|
The single and dual channel DIN Rail Loop Powered Digital Output Isolators, D1048S and D1048D, are suitable to drive a normally energized solenoid valve, or audible alarms, or other process control devices in Hazardous Areas.
The Safety PLC or DCS driving signal powers the final element through the D1048.
Typical application includes visual or audible alarms to alert a plant operator or driving a solenoid valve or other process control devices.
It can also be used as a controllable supply to power measuring or process control equipments in Hazardous Areas.
The unit isolate and transfer the signal to the normally energized final element, but at the same time, is capable to monitor continuously the line and final element conditions (short and open circuit output line and load continuous diagnostic monitoring with LED indication and normally close transistor output signalling).
This is achieved by means of an independent diagnostic monitoring control circuit which is separately powered (24 Vdc supply line).
Three basic output circuit are available, with different safety parameters, to interface the majority of solenoids on the market. The selection among the three output characteristics is obtained by connecting the final element to a different terminal block.
D1048 provide 3 port isolation (input/output/supply) between the Safe Areas PLC and
the Hazardous Areas devices. The unit can be installed in Zone 2, Division 2 location.
